What in the BLOGGIN'?

Okay, so who would have thought I would be creating and non the less write a blog. NOT I! For some reason I alwasys resented blogs. I found them to be a waste of time and involve so much energy. I never understood why people would want to read the thoughts of another individual.

My mental model of Blogs immediately changed after doing this assignment. I discovered that blogs are really cool! They offer a wide range of information and support from collegues within various careers. As I was reading one of the Librarian blogs, I notices that each reported attending conferences throughout the nation as well as their experiences.

I have way more respect for blogs then I did in the past. They are really like an online community either getting informaiton out to the masses from a personal and or informational perspective.

Im kind of hooked now. There are so many blogs out there. I would have never been exposed to such a vast amount of information within my field of Library and Information Science if I would have never given in to such an influencial technological service.

I once heard a celebrity say that everyone is in desperate need for being heard and having a voice, which is why youtube and blogs have become so popular. I still don't know how to feel about this. I believe that, yes everyone is searching to be heard and use such references as vehicles to do so. That is where it gets sticky....

I love reading information that is factual and useful. Rather is be personal or researched experience, if it does a community some good, then why not.

Well, let us hope that this is the beginning of something productive and useful.

Peace and Blessings
